In the 13th of the last month, reports began of a series of ships of various tonnages, most being large galleons or fluytes being plundered by a large ship of the line. She bears the same description as that of the SEA REAPER galleon, of some 90 guns, a privateer now under command of one Captain 'Greyhound' returned from England a Knight of the Realm. Reports of all attacks are similer. Ships come under fire near dawn or at night, with chain and grape shot raining down from above, decimating crew and destroying rigging before broadsides are exchanged. The ship then lowers a series of drawbridges from her middle gundeck from which 100s of men swarm out. The identity of her captain was confirmed by Sir John Pennybrocke, Esquire who was transfering all of his worldy goods from Jamaica to his new home on Barbadoes.

Most reports agree that the attacks come in the thick of night when the moon is nigh. some right before dawn. those before dawn insist the SEA REAPER materializes out of nowhere. She begins each assault by firing a large arc of chain shot and grapeshot intended to damage crew and demast the merchant, with a single warning shot. Captain Vallez who was couriering Sir Pennybrocke gave fire to the galleon, and was returned with several broadsides when she drew close. Sir Penrbocke's slaves were also liberated, and despite these blatant acts of piracy, losses of life are usually a minimum, and the pirates under greyhound's crew loathe to show cruelty.

The Governor claims the captain's loyalties are unquestionable, and to challenge a personal guest of the king would be foolish. Admiral Blakely proclaimed loudly that the governor was ineffective and was more concerned with the tactical advantage the Reaper offers as defense against the Spaniard, and desires not to chase her off. The admiral then said he had never trusted the privateers, least of all Greyhound who he swore to all local landowners he'd bring to justice. Admiral Morgan of the Privateers was unavailable for comment as he had just left on an expedition. At this time however, the SEA REAPER is confirmed at anchor in her usual place, and Admiral Blakely has not acted yet, despite his own ship being at anchor nearby. He is likely also concerned about repercussions from the King
